Green Fodder & Feed Programme
To maintain the rigorous health and high-fertility requirements of purebred breeding bulls and bull mothers, PBGSBS commenced targeted green fodder production programmes across its primary institutional farms. Sustained by state-funded projects, these sites focus on maximising biomass yield per acre to secure year-round succulent roughage.
Green fodder production is structurally distributed across three primary sites — Haringhata Farm Complex (Nadia), Composite State Animal Husbandry Farm Campus (Salboni, Paschim Medinipur) and State Livestock Farm (Kalyani, Nadia) — with an additional plot at Semen Station, Beldanga.
Green Fodder Production Sites
Acting as the core supply zone for the Haringhata Frozen Semen Bull Station and the Bull Mother Farm.
Situated in the laterite belt of Paschim Medinipur, this site supports the elite Gir, Crossbred Jersey, and Holstein Friesian bull mother and breeding bull herds.

Feed Mixing Units (RKVY)
Feed Mixing Unit — BMF Haringhata
The RKVY-funded unit was established to eliminate nutritional inconsistencies by producing specialised, high-quality concentrated feed locally.
Demonstrating strong operational efficiency, this unit produced 985 Metric Tonnes (MT) of balanced concentrated feed during the 2025–26 operational year alone, satisfying the precise nutritional matrices required for the breeding animals of Sanstha.
Feed Mixing Unit — BMF Salboni
Similar to the Haringhata model, this unit was financed by RKVY to serve as a captive production facility processing precisely batched balanced rations.
It processes precisely batched balanced rations to maximise the genetic expression, health, and reproductive performance of the farm’s elite bull mothers and heifers. The unit produced 540 Metric Tonnes (MT) of balanced concentrated feed during the 2025–26 operational year.
