    Achievements

Paschim Banga Go-Sampad Bikash Sanstha, as a parastatal of Animal Resources Development Department, Govt. of West Bengal and a State Implementing Agency of Livestock Breeding (Livestock Development Board) under the aegis of Govt. of India, has been working hard with the objective of making West Bengal a Zero Milk Deficit State. Milk production has been increased from 36.86 Lakh MT in 2003-04 to 79.54 Lakh MT in the year 2024-25. The per capita milk availability is 219 gm. 41% of breedable Bovine population are under AI coverage. Till a major share of less productive breedable bovines will have to be covered as quickly as possible so that the growth impact is felt on the ground as the productivity goes up between 3 to 4 times.
