Dr. Sharadindu Shil has been working in the fields of Genomics, Molecular Biology and Animal Genetics & Breeding for the past ~12 years. He heads the CLART Genomics Lab and Genomics & Molecular Biology Laboratory (GMBL), PBGSBS, Govt of west Bengal— the only facility in Eastern India with an operational Axiom GeneTitan MC SNP array platform for livestock genomics. He serves as TSC Convener for the PBGSBS–BAIF Genomic Selection Programme (launched February 2026), overseeing genomic evaluation of cattle and Buffalo across West Bengal. He is an Associate Editor of Exploratory Animal and Medical Research. He has 12+ publications nationally and internationally, including in Veterinary World, Journal of Pure and Applied Microbiology, International Journal of Livestock Research, and Records of the Zoological Survey of India.
